Every year after Thanksgiving, Krug Park is transformed into Holiday Park with Christmas Lights throughout the park. The City of St. Joseph used to do this but the cost became too great and they announced they would discontinue it. The public outcry was so enormous that the citizens themselves decided to continue it on their own. Volunteers gather donations as you leave, and the money they collect from the people go toward paying for the electricity costs and for any new displays. Churches and other organizations also donated displays, and it has grown more and more every year. It is a beloved tradition to drive through the park every year and honk in the tunnels. We love our Krug Park!!
